Ignite Digital

Launched in 2012, Ignite has brought the Canadian Ismaili business community together to build partnerships, grow networks and share experiences. In 2020, Ignite launched the first-ever digital iteration of the conference – Ignite Digital. This was also the first global conference, welcoming attendees and speakers from across the globe.

Branding and communications that highlight a first-ever virtual edition of this annual event.

In launching this event, we were faced with an unprecedented situation – the global COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, there was quite a bit of uncertainty regarding how long it would last, what the long-term implications would be, and when we might return to “normal”. I led my team in embracing the challenge by re-branding this event as a virtual one and re-educating our prospective attendees and strategic partners about what a virtual conference meant. We successfully created a new logo, new outreach materials, developed a new content strategy, built a new social media presence, and created a series of video teasers.

At the time that we were planning this event, virtual conferences were still ‘new’, especially within our community. Despite this, we had a clear vision for the event that we made sure was reflected in all marketing assets and communications that we produced, whether they were internal or external.
